Wickford Leisure Centre EnSmart 40 Pre-packaged Plant Room gets a lift

The completed off site construction of a containerised packaged plant room set within a GRP enclosure gets ‘very carefully’ lifted onto the Wheelers transport vehicle before it’s final onward journey to a Leisure Centre in Wickford, Essex.
The “EnSmart 40” system, an externally sited pre-packaged containerised plant room has been designed and constructed by Helec to support an ageing leisiure centres plant room needs.
The following plant equipment below was built and set up from scratch ;
1 x  22kWe Energimizer gas fuelled Combined Heat & Power unit
2 x Remeha Quinta Ace 115 wall hung boilers on a LLH
1 x 1,000 ltr Thermal Store for instantaneous pre-set hot water
1 x Spirotech Vacuum Degasser & system pressurisation set
1 x Duty/Standby Grundfos primary pump set

The EM22NG CHP acts as the “lead boiler” producing 47kW/th to service the Wickford Swim & Fitness Centre HW services via the charged 1,000ltr thermal store.
This highly efficient retrofit application has been integrated into the leisure centres exisiting hydraulic circuit and is anticipated to operate 24/7, 365 days a year with expected savings to the leisure centre owners of at least £15,000.00 a year in reduced energy costs whilst helping to reduce its CO2 emissions by 66,800Kgs.
