Snowdrop Place – Assisted Living care home

2020 saw Helec assist the main M&E contractor with the plant room design, along with the installation & final commissioning of an Energimizer EM16NG Combined Heat & Power unit into an upper floor plant room of a new assisted living care home in Hampshire.
This quiet running EM16NG CHP acts as the “lead boiler” to produce 35kWth thermal heat to charge a 1,000 ltr thermal store, which in turn readily delivers hot water services out into the main building space heating & domestic hot water circuits.
Expected savings by generating 104,000kWh of ‘free’ electricity on site will benefit the staff and the owners, Barchester Care, in reducing running costs.
